Mangalore, Dec 25, 2011: Santhosh Kumar Bhandary, the former president of the DK district Zilla Panchayat, died of cardiac arrest on Dec 24 Saturday.
He got a heart attack during a meeting held in Siddakatte to discuss issues related to the Kambala that was held on Dec 18. He was immediately rushed to Fr. Muller Hospital in Mangalore and passed away at 11:30 p.m.
According to reliable sources, Mr. Bhandary has been suffering from chest pain from a few days and had taken an appointment with the doctor for Dec 6 Monday.
He was elected as the president of the ZP in 2009 as a Congress-turned-BJP member contesting from Sangabettu.
