Fishing boat capsizes off Padukere coast ; 1 dead, another feared drowned

Udupi, July 18,2015: A fisherman lost his life while another person is reported missing after the fishing boat in which they had ventured into fishing early morning on July 18, off the Padukere Coast near Malpe Saturday capsized mid-sea.
The deceased is Ravindra Kotian (33). Another fisherman identified as Shivananda Kotian (26) is missing and the fear is that he might have drowned. The fire service personnel, police personnel and other rescue teams have launched a search for the missing fisherman.There were a total of six persons on board the small fishing boat. The rest four are said to be safe.
Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes and Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj visited the hospital mortuary where the body of the deceased fisherman was kept.
A case has been registered by Malpe police.
