First Annual Total Mobile Golden Insignia Awards conferred

Mangalore, August 11, 2011: The first annual Total Mobile Golden Insignia Awards 2011 of the Dept of Mass Communication and Media Studies (MCMS), St. Aloysius College, Mangalore was held on August 11, 2011. The chief guest of the event was Mr. Tharanath Shetty of Janashri Channel. 

Fr. Walter Andrade and Mr. Mukesh of Total Mobiles presented the Best Male Anchor Award to Abhishek J. Shetty. Raghu of V4 Media and Dr. Smitha Hegde, the head of the department of biotechnology, presented the Best Female Anchor Award to Sushmitha Kirodian.

 

 

Ms Bhavy of the department of journalism and Mr. Kiran of ETV presented the Best Innovation Award to Namratha Sharma. Ravi Posavanike of Times of India and Rev. Richard Rego, the head of the department of mass communication and media studies presented the Best Feature Story Award to Yathin and Abhishek for their story titled Dumping Yard. 

Prof. N. D. Shetty of the department of Kannada and Mrs. Violet Pereira of Mangalorean.com presented the Best Episode Award to Patterson Fernandes. Ronald Pinto, the vice principal of Xavier Block, and Mr. Kiran of ETV presented the Best Cameraperson Award to Dinesh Nirawdekar.

Ms. Loveen Lobo, the head of the MSW department, and Nanda Gopal, the director of CIL, presented the Best Video Editor award to Yathin Moolya. Fr. Francis Almeida, the campus minister, and Ronald Fernandes of Deccan Herald presented the Best Scriptwriter Award to Almas Nazeer.

Advocate Anitha Shenoy and Sr. Avia D’Souza presented the Best Assignment Editor Award to Petula Dias. 

The awards were instituted to celebrate the 50th weekly episode of Campus Eye, a news bulletin edited and published by the department of mass communication and media studies at St. Aloysius College.
