Addressing the protesters, organisation Convener Dinesh Holla said that the protest will be intensified across the district, since the elected representatives have not responded to the fight and requests of the people opposing the project.

He sought the resignation of elected representatives for failing to address the cause. Though we had demanded them to convene a meeting on the issue in Dakshina Kannada, they have not obliged. Therefore, the organisation will visit various colleges and other organisations to create an awareness about the necessity to protect Western Ghats. We will explain about the negative impact of Yettinahole. Youth should join their hands for this cause, he requested.

He also criticised the government for rejecting Madhav Gadgil report and forming a high-level committee chaired by T S R Subramaniam to amend five important forest and environment acts. It is not acceptable to dilute the environmental acts for the sake of developmental works.
