Kundapur, May 12, 2016: Raghavendra Kini, 44 jumped into a pond to save his two children who accidentally fell into it drowned along with his children at Airabailu, Ulloor, on May11, Wednesday.
The deceased was later identified, as a prominent Gowd Saraswat Brahmin cook; his children Prakash, 15 and Yogish, 14.
Both children while playing slipped into the pond. After hearing their friends’ shout for help, Kini jumped into the pond to save his children. Though the pond had a little water, Raghavendra died due to a heart attack, police said. Kini was a prominent cook at temples in the district.
