Farmer who prevented Major Train Tragedy felicitated by MLA Bava

Mangaluru: August 5, 2015: Frank Fernandes, whose quick thinking averted a major train mishap after he saw a crack on the railway track, was felicitated by MLA of Mangaluru North Mohiuddin Bava for his heroic effort.

 

 

On 1st August, Frank noticed that the railway track at Bondel Panchady had developed crack, to stop train passing from it Frank collected a bunch of red Pagoda flowers at spot and used as a signal to stop the train, thus tragedy was foiled.

MLA Mohiuddin Bava along with other supporters visited his house on Tuesday and honored him with a shawl and gave a cheque of Rs. 5000 as reward.

Speaking to media personals, Bava said, Franks great presence of mind has averted a major tragedy, we are all very proud of him"

In addition to that Bava said "I have recommended Frank’s name for the Rajyotsava award and I have already shown the video footage to Chief minister Sidarammiah, I am glad that Frank is from constituency"

Bava was accompanied by corporator Kavitha Sanil and others.
