Families of plane crash victims can apply for state compensation: Ponnuraj

Mangalore, July 1: DC V. Ponnuraj told reporters that an amount of Rs 2 lakh each from the disaster relief fund of the state government will be paid as the state government’s compensation to the plane crash victims of May 22 residing in Karnataka. Accordingly, the money has been transferred to various tahsildars in Mangalore, Belthangady, Bantwal, Sullia, and Kadaba for distribution to the bereaved families.

 

 

The family members of the deceased who are eligible to receive this amount must apply at the local tahsildar’s office. The application forms are available on request, said a press note from the DCO on Thursday. The families should submit the completed application forms with death certificates and other necessary documents to the nearest tahsildar’s office to claim the state government’s compensation. Once the formalities are concluded, a cheque will be issued without any further delay.
