FMCI to commemorate founder Fr Muller’s death centenary on Nov 1

Mangalore, Oct 28: Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa, the administrator of Fr. Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI), informed reporters that FMCI will commemorate the death centenary of its founder Rev. Fr. Augustus Muller SJ on Nov 1, as part of which a memorial oration will be held in the FMCI Academy Hall on Nov 2.

Revealing further details, Fr. D’Sa said that a brand new hi-tech laundry and the Fr. Muller Museum will be inaugurated on Nov 1. Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh will be the chief guest, and Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, who is also the chairman of FMCI, will preside over the programme.

Prof. P. Balaram, the director of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, will deliver the oration on Nov 2. The oration will be based on the theme of “science and medicine – building a research interface in India.”

Rev. Fr. Denzil Lobo SJ, the director of St. Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology (AIMIT), will be the guest of honour.

FMCI Dean Dr. J. P. Alva was present during the press conference.
