Ex-convict arrested for sexual assault at Kasba Bengre

Mangalore, July 30, 2014:   Reports state that  one Mohammed Mustafa (38), a resident of Kasba Bengre and  a father of two is said to have sexually assaulted a minor girl in his neighborhood and the police have arrested the accused, on  receiving a complaint from the girl and her mother.  

According to reports, the man is said to have broken into the house at midnight on Sunday July 27, and sexually assaulted a sixteen-year-old girl, the alarmed girl shouted for help but the culprit escaped.  Again in the early hours of the morning while the mother and daughter were asleep, the said Mustafa called out to the girl. The mother of the girl arose and tried to catch him. The suspect pushed her and is said to have threatened to kill if he was prevented and ran away.

The girl is said to be a student of 9th standard. The wife of the accused is reportedly staying separately with their two children.

The criminal minded Mohammed Mustafa is said to be a notorious criminal involved in ganja trade, and cases against him in the Panambur police station and the coast guard police exist  and that he was recently released after serving a long sentence in jails. He is also known for communal disturbances in the area of his residence.
 
 Later  the neighbours got together and decided to approach the Panambur police station. Panambur police station,  sub-inspector Bharathi arrested the accused on July 28.  A case of sexual harassment and child sexual abuse is registered against the accused and investigations have been ordered.
