Mangaluru, Dec 25, 2019: Former MLA of Mangaluru North Mohiuddin Bava who has strongly condemned the Citizenship Amendment Act has  opined that  it would divide people on religious line. He also strongly condemned the police action of lathi charging and opening fire on CAA protestors in Mangaluru on December 19.

The former MLA also called upon to the people to participate in large numbers in a peaceful protest to be held at Nehru Maidan on January 4 opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act and NRC and to demand their withdrawal.


Sack police officials responsible for firing :SDPI

Mangaluru: SDPI State President Ilyas Mohammed Thumbe  urged the state government to dismiss Commissioner of Police Dr PS Harsha, DCP(Law and Order) Arunangshu Giri and Inspector Shantharam Kunder, who  were responsible for taking lives of two innocents in police firing on December 19.

Speaking to reporters, He said, “The SDPI will fight till we get justice. The atrocity of the police should be condemned.”


“The police fired at innocents purposefully during the protest. The entire episode has instilled fear in the Minds of the people. The police had even resorted to lathi-charge inside the hospital, “he alleged.


He said that the SDPI will approach the court seeking justice for the innocent victims.
