Mangaluru, June 21,2017: The inauguration of a week-long programme to mark International Yoga Day was held at MRPL on June 20, Tuesday.Speaking on the occasion, Dr K Krishna Sharma, HoD and Chairman, Department of Human Consciousness and Yogic Sciences, Mangalore University, delivered a talk on ’Importance of Yoga and Yoga Therapy in today’s lifestyle.’ He said Yoga is India’s contribution to the world and also highlighted why Yoga is gaining prominence in recent times. The right kind of food and proper sleep is essential for a healthy life, he said.
MRPL MD H Kumar said stress can be controlled by practicing Yoga.
KIOCL : Yoga sessions are being conducted daily for one week at the Nehru Bhavan in KIOCL township in Kavoor. The Yoga week was inaugurated at the Resource Centre by Bobraj V Jeyaharan, executive director, followed by a session ’Glimpse on Yoga’ by the doctors from the AYUSH department at the KIOCL Resource Centre, Panambur. They conducted a detailed session on Yoga and enlightened the participants on the uses of various types of yogasanas and pranayamas.
