Mangaluru, May 14, 2018: Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil has informed that elaborate measures have been taken in view of the counting of votes polled for the eight assembly constituencies of the district, to be held at the Mahatma Gandhi Centenary High School and PU College at Bondel on May 15, Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters he detailed on the various measures taken and also stated that the counting rooms will be under CCTV surveillance. A returning officer, assistant returning officer, observer and a counting agent for a candidate have been appointed at each counting room. The results at the end of every round will be announced, he added.
The DC said processions and rallies will not be allowed till May 16 midnight until when the Prohibitory orders will be in force.
Police Commissioner Vipul Kumar who also spoke said three companies of CAPF-SSB have been deployed during the counting process and that there would be three layered security. Arrangements have been made for emergency medical services and fire services at the counting centre. Parking for public vehicles have been made at NMS and KHB grounds, he informed.
