Eight deacons receive holy orders

Mangalore, May 28: Eight young men received Holy Orders at Infant Jesus Shrine on May 27. Rev. Fr. Archibald Gonsalves, the provincial superior of the Carmelites, accepted their profession and celebrated the Holy Eucharist.

 

 

 

 

In his homily, he said that young men committing their lives to the service of God is very rare. He congratulated the parents of the young priests and thanked them for sacrificing their sons for the greater glory of God.

While making their final profession, the deacons take the vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience for the rest of their lives and gives up sex, wealth, and power to serve God and humanity.

The young men who made their final profession were Br. Anil Prashanth Lobo, the son of Joachim and Benedicta Lobo of Ujire; Br. Arun Sunil Lobo, the son of Albert and Helen Lobo of Agrar; Dr. Ivo Dias, the son of Dominic and Rosy Dias of Goa; Br. Pradeep Pinto, the son of Valerian and Rita Pinto of Ujire; Br. Rajesh D’Souza, the son of Saturnin and Florine D’Souza of Madanthyar; Br. Roshan Denzil Veigas, the son of Basil and Letitia Veigas of Vamanjoor; and Br. Vijay Kiran D’Costa, the son of Francis and Veronica D’Costa of Badyar.
