Drugs in Peda sweet box handed over to man employed in Saudi

Mangaluru, Apr 12, 2018:  It has come to light of late that drugs in the form of pills were found concealed in a packet of a sweet named Peda  given to a Hejamady person by another man to hand it over to someone in Saudi Arabia.

Noor of Hejamady who works in Jubail was recently at home town on a holiday. One of his friends in Saudi had requested him to bring along a parcel which a local person would hand over to him.

Accordingly Noor had received the parcel  and out of curiosity had opened it before he travelled for Gulf.   He grew suspicious and  cut  open a peda only to find a pill like  substance inside. He cleverly removed all the suspicious substance and had packed the peda and handed it over to his friend in the Gulf who  in turn had reprimanded Noor. Meanwhile, Noor’s brother back at home had verified it was an intoxicant  and subsequently the person who gave the parcel was also reportedly unidentified.  This issue has gone viral on social sites.
