Bantwal, May 17, 2016:  The Netravathi River which has gone almost completely dry near the Netravathi bridge at Panemangalore has now turned into a cricket ground for some local lads who play cricket on a dry stretch  almost not bothered about the grave water problem which the district is staring at.

Water problem has further aggravated in the city of Mangaluru with the water level in Thumbay dam  doing down to 3.9 feet. The city is facing the grim situation of being deprived of tap water supply unless it rains heavily in the next few days.

One can also see people crossing the dry river without using the bridge.

Instead of using it as the Playground the government has to make the river deep during this time as the water gets accumulated in large quantity.

It the river in the same condition even after rains in past 5 to 6 days. Usually the river dries up but this time its because we did not have pre-monsoon at all. But luckily there was some rains which to some extent filled the well. How come In Netravathy river still playground.
