Mangaluru, Jan 25, 2018: The Indian Coast Guard has organized a weeklong variety of events on occasion of its Raising Day,  01 February 2018. Drawing and Painting competition is one among the series of events planned. The event will be conducted at 1600 hrs on 27 January 2018 at the atrium of Forum Fiza Mall, Pandeshwar, wherein school children from various prestigious schools of Mangalore have registered to participate.

Indian Coast Guard has been organizing several activities / events every year to commemorate its establishment and its noteworthy maritime service to the nation. All Coast Guard events aim to spread messages of social harmony, brotherhood and unity among the Indian nationals. The Drawing and Painting competition is based on the theme of Unity in Diversity to help children revisit the building fibers of our strong democratic country through their ignited minds, dexterity, paper, pencil and vivid colours.

The overwhelming response of registration suggests that the event will be flooded with more than 350 children participating for the competition and both organizers i.e., Coast Guard and Forum Fiza Mall teams are highly enthralled about the event’s progress and have planned to suitably reward winners of the competition.

Fiza Forum Mall Management have come forward to support the cause of Indian Coast Guard by proudly organizing the event. The mall management has been highly proactive in supporting events of social and national welfare throughout the year.

 Deputy Inspector General SS Dasila, TM, the Commander, Coast Guard Karnataka was briefed about the Drawing and Painting competition. The Commander stated, "The young minds express themselves by the use of colours and sketches. We must encourage them to express their thoughts and flourish. The theme - Unity in Diversity is apt on the occasion as India is a heterogeneous country with multi-cultural people". The Commander also stated that he is looking forward for huge participation for the Drawing and Painting competition.
