It is useless to lead a life without any aim, he said that the Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Development Project helps self-help groups and their members to achieve their aims in life. He also clarified that forcing anybody to participate is not the purpose of the project.

Explaining the functioning of the self-help groups, he said that the project allows the groups to work out their own welfare and provide them financial assistance at the initial stages. Every self-help group has proved its trustworthiness by returning the loans they have taken from the Rural Development Project.

Hemavathi Heggade, the wife of Dr. Heggade, distributed cheques to self-help groups such as Madani Self-help Group, Shri Guru Self-help Group, Saraswati Self-help Group, and others. The self help groups honored the Heggade couple with special peanut garlands.

Former President of the Progressive Central Committee Sukhalatha Shetty handed over the position to its present President Shankar Shetty. Pushpalatha, a member of one of the self help groups, delivered the welcome speech.
