Mangalore, Oct 21, 2011: Dr. US Krishna Nayak, Dean of AB Shetty Memorial Institute Of Dental Sciences has Been elected as the President of international College of Dentists (USA) India, Sri Lanka and Nepal Section for the Year 2011- 2012.

He was also the Past National President of India Dental association (IDA) and India orthodontic society (IOs).  Dr. Nayak has been Member, Board of Studies in Dental Surgery, at Mangalore, Calicut & Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.

Dr.U. S. Krishna Nayak  is the elder son of Dr. U. S. Mohandas Nayak and Mrs. Indira M. Nayak. He is a practicing Orthodontics.  He runs the ’Nayak’s Dental Clinic and Orthodontic Centre’ at Attawar, Mangalore.

His selfless contribution to the profession and the community have fetched him awards galore, the most important ones being ‘The Fellowship of Indian Board of Orthodontics’ in the year 2000 for Excellence  in Clinical Orthodontics, ‘ Indian Dentist of the Year’ award in 2001, ‘Karnataka State Rajyotsava’ award, the highest civilian award given by the state government in the year 2003, which also makes him the first person in the field of Dentistry to receive it and most recently he has been conferred with ‘ The Man of the Year in Dental Health’ for 2008 "By the American Biographical Society" which probably recognizes all his contributions in a most comprehensive manner.
