Mangaluru, Jan 12, 2021: Three books including " Purusha Shreshta- Nitte Vinay Hegde"  based on the life and achievements of Nitte Deemed-to-be-University Chancellor N Vinay Hegde,  were released  on January 11, Monday at a ceremony held at the new auditorium of AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences. The books are authored by Dr Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor of Nitte Deemed-to-be University and renowned orthopaedic surgeon.

Former Lokayukta and former Supreme Court Judge  Justice N Santosh Hegde released the book "Purusha Shreshta- Nitte Vinay Hegde." He said all the three books authored by Dr Shantharam Shetty are well researched books.

Another book entitled "Molahalli Nannooru Chennooru- Nanna Mane Patelara Doddamane," was released by B A Viveka Rai, former  VC of Hampi Kannada University.

The third book  "Orthopaedic Patient and Yoga" was released by N Vinay Hegde who presided over the function. Speaking on the occasion, Vinay Hegde said if his brother Santosh Hegde was the inspiration behind his achievements, Dr Shantharam Shetty was the motivating factor behind the achievements of Nitte institutions.

He said there were plans to open a hospital  near Molahalli with the co-operation of Dr Shantharam Shetty, with the objective of providing free treatment to poor patients.

Pro-Chancellor Vishal Hegde,  Vice Chancellor Dr K Satish Kumar Bhandary, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof  M S Moodithaya, Finance Director, M. Rajendra and  Dr Shantharam Shetty were present.

Manohar Prasad, former  Bureau Chief of Mangaluru Bureau of Udayavani who translated the book on Vinay Hegde into Kannada, was felicitated on the occasion.
