Diocese of Mangaluru to hold mega vehicles rally on Dec 21st

Mangaluru Dec 19, 2016: The diocese of Mangaluru under the leadership of Social Concern Commitee of the Diocesan Pastoral Council has planned to hold a mega vehicle rally on December 21st to mark the Christmas celebrations, informed Convenor of the rally Fr Onil D Souza.

Addressing media at the press club on Monday December 19, he said that, five deaneries of Mangaluru diocese will take part in the rally. The rally will proceed in four routes Thokkotu-Pumpwell-Kankanady-Falnir-Milagres. Surathkal-Thannirbhavi-Kulur-Ashoknagar-Urwa-Lalbagh-PVS-Bunts hostel- Jyothi-Milagres. Vamanjoor-Fermai-Shakthinagar-Kulshekar-Nanthoor-Bendur-Balmatta-Milagres. Rosario- AB Shetty Circle-Milagres.

He also said that, two wheelers and four wheeler vehicles will be used in the rally. Christmas Carols will be sung in the rally. There will be floats related to Christmas in the rally. Around 3000 people are expected to take part in the rally.

At Milagres church grounds a tableau depicting the teachings of Jesus will be presented. Rev Fr Dr Aloysious Paul D Souza the bishop of Mangalore will deliver the Christmas message, said Onil D Souza.

As part of this celebration in December 23rd the Bishop will distribute Kuswar and clothes to the in-mates of St Antony’s festive items to the families of people affected by HIV AIDS and construction material to build a house to the poor family.

Fr Ronald D Souza, Vincent Mascarenhas, MP Noronha and others were present.
