Mangaluru, March 03, 2015:  Releasing the invitation for the event on March 2, D Veerendra Heggade, dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala reiterated,  Manjunatha Temple that has a history of around eight centuries and unique heretage and  traditions is preparing in earnest for ganahoma and rudrayaga being conducted in connection with the religious rituals on March 13.  Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala is about 80 Kms from Mangaluru, the pomp and solemnity of ashtabandha brahmakalashotsava of the presiding deity - Sri Manjunatha Swamy is set to be performed from March 12 to 18.

Veerendra Hegg.The Dharmadhikari stated,  Brahmakalashotsava is held for three-days every year at the Kshetra as per traditions. The ’ashtabandha brahmakalashotsava’ that is held once every 12-years will only increase the powers of the Kshetra and ensure that the devotees get the blessings of the deity. He went on to say that Neeleshwara Aalambady Padmanabha Tantri will lead the various religious rituals in connection with the six-day event.

It is further to be noted, the ashtabandha brahamakalashotsava of Sri Manjunath Swamy will be held at 10.40am on March 18. Sri Vishvesha Thirtha swamiji of Pejavar Adhokshaja Mutt, Sri Vidyaprasanna Thirtha of Sri Narasimha Samputa Mutt, Subrahmanya, Bhattakalanka Bhattaraka Swamiji of Sonda Mutt, Sri Gurudevananda Swamiji of Sri Kshetra Odiyoor, Mohandas swamiji of Sri Dhama Maanila and Sri Saraswathi Swamiji of Kanyadi Rama Kshetra will deliver benedictions on this occasion.

The Gerumarukatte Utsav of Sri Manjunath Swamy will be held at 9pm on March 18. Heggade expressed his appreciation to the voluntary effort and drive on part of Dharmasthala and adjoining villages who have joined hands in the arrangements for the event. A total of 23 various committees involving 1,350 people have been formed for successful conduct of the event. Mass recitation of Shivashastra Sahasra namavali will be held for three-days from 7am to 8am from March 12. During the Utsavas lakhs fo people are expected to visit for blessings of the Gods.
