Ujire, Nov 23, 2015:  There is a need to promote  rural entrepreneurship with a strong will and determination. Even the Union Government is ready to provide all possible assistance  in this regard, said Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Industries Kalraj Mishra.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Siri Bhavan and Micro Entrepreneurs Meet at Dharmasthala on November 22, Sunday. Continuing the minister said  Rural Entrepreneurship- will go a long way in helping the nation achieve progress and self-reliance.

Laying emphasis on development of Khadi and Village Industries, the minister said small industries must be set up by utilizing the raw materials available in rural areas. He also stated that the Pradhan Mantri Udyog Khatri Yojana was being successfully implemented in the state.

Nalin Kumar Kateel, Dakshina Kannada MP said  the Dharmasthala Rural Development Project was playing a pivotal role in improving the standard of living of the poor people.

Dr. D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala who presided over the function stressed the need to revive home industries and rural industries which are facing extinction. He said the Siri organization had  recorded a business of Rs 25 crores last year. While informing that  construction works for  a training centre building for RUDSET Directors was underway on a two acre plot in Bengaluru, he sought the  assistance of the Central Government for the same.

KN Janardhan, Director of RUDSET Institute said every year four lakh unemployed people were provided training through the 580 institutes in the nation.

Successful small entrepreneurs Veda of Belthangady and Gulabi of Patrame spoke about the success of their business.

Hemavathi V Heggade, Satyavathi Kalraj,   BH Anil Kumar, Joint Secretary of the MSME Ministry, K.T. Rai, General Manager of Syndicate Bank,  V Tangaraju, General Manager of Corporation Bank,  Anil K  Shetty, DGM of Vijaya Bank, Achyut Poojary, President of Dharmasthala Gram Panchayat, Dr L H Manjunath, Executive Director of Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, Panorama Bhat, Director of Siri and others were present.
