He urged the government to conduct an in-depth investigation into the possible misappropriation of funds in these projects.

The MP visited the MCC’s UGD waste management unit at Madhava Nagar in Kodippadi, Suratkal and spoke to the local people who said that they were fed up of the stench emanating from the region due to the mismanagement of the wet well. Nalin visited the place where the treated water from the plant is being released into the open drain. The MCC drinking water pipe passes through the same place and the half treated sewage water not only gets merged with the drinking water but also seeps into the wells nearby. The water is let into Nandini river. Water Management unit Engineer Vishwanath said that sewage from Suratkal and Chitrapur areas gets accumulated in the Madhava Nagar wet well. After the construction of the wet well, the project of laying a separate pipeline to release treated water was not taken up. It could be taken up only after seeking permission from the Railways department as the railway track is adjacent to the place.
