Udupi, July 14, 2020: Udupi DC G Jagadeesha said that a meeting with MLAs, scheduled to be held on Tuesday, would decide the future course of action with regard to the imposition of lockdown in the district.
Speaking to mediapersons, the DC said that he had recommended sealing down of the district borders to control the spread of the virus during the video conference with chief minister. It is the only way to control and stop the coronavirus from spreading. Responding to the suggestion, the chief minister has asked to take the MLAs and elected representatives into confidence before acting upon the decision.
However, before the imposition of the lockdown, the administration will allow people to travel in and out of the district to reach their destinations, he said.
Jagadeesha added that SSLC evaluation will take place amidst the border sealdown or lockdown in the district. The teachers will be provided transportation facility.
He added that 18 to 20 conductors and drivers were facing charges for carrying excess passengers as against the government instructions.
