Bantwal, Oct 25, 2016 : Vittal Police have arrested two more persons in connection with a case wherein the explosives placed by them for hunting wild animals had resulted in the death of a cow belonging to Radhakrishna Moolya at Chellangaru hill in Karopadi village recently. With this the total number of persons arrested in this case has gone upto four.
Those arrested are Sheenappa Naika (48) of Doomadka Pelathaje and Vinod Shetty (30) of Hassan Haluru. Two other accused namely Govinda Naika and Vijay John have already been arrested. It has been learnt that the four suspects used to place explosives during night to hunt wild animals for their flesh.
Interrogations of the accused revealed that Sheenappa used to prepare the explosive by mixing gun powder, tied it with some flesh and kept it in the forest. Their explosives had helped them in laying hands on two wild pigs in the past six months.
The accused also revealed that they were assisted by Vinod Shetty who brought the explosives in his autorickshaw.
