Daylight bank heist in Kasaragod; gold, cash looted

Kasargod, September 7, 2015: Kasaragod: In a major heist, masked men robbed huge amount of gold and cash from a bank in the outskirts of Kudlu city in Kasaragod on Monday.

The conmen looted 21 kg of gold and Rs 13 lakh in cash after threatening the bank staff around 3 pm. There were two women employees and a woman who had come to pawn gold in the bank during the time of the robbery.

 

 

The four-member gang, who arrived in a bike, barged into the bank and threatened the staff flashing lethal weapons.

The gang tied up one of the staff and led the other towards the locker and seized the cash and the gold. The robbers also threatened the woman who was in the bank to pawn 21 sovereigns of gold and decamped with it.

A large posse of policemen reached the spot and are recording statements from the staff. The staff who fell unconscious by the incident was admitted to Kasaragod General Hospital.
