Mangaluru, Oct 05, 2021: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra K V has issued an order stating that Dasara should be celebrated in a simple manner from October 7 to 16 by adhering to all Covid norms.
All Covid appropriate behaviours must be followed by the temple managements, staff and priests. Devotees who visit temples should be allowed entry only if they produce the vaccination certificate of having both the doses. The devotees can produce a copy of the same or can show it from their mobile phones.
The temples must take measures to open Covid vaccination centres in the premises with the co-operation of the local health centres. Measures must be taken to ensure people stand in queue while visiting temples, use of masks is compulsory, the DC’s order stated.
No procession will be allowed and organisers will be held responsible in case of any violation. Cultural programmes can be held subject to the condition that only 50% of the seats are occupied. Arrangements must be made for live telecast of the programmes and also through LCD screens at the shrine, the DC’s order stated.
