Udupi, May 6, 2012: Daniel Monteiro, an office assistant at St. Mary’s Syrian College, has been entered into the Guinness Book of World Records for his bird-themed stamp collection.

Daniel of Kumragodu in Brahmavara is the son of Florine Monteiro and late Peter Monteiro, who developed a penchant for collecting stamps at the tender age of 11. A teacher told him about the importance of developing hobbies, owing to which Daniel chose philately. Later, he started collecting stamps of birds because he was interested in the environment.
