Adamaru Shripathy Acharya said that government facilities are not reaching the people. He urged Dalits to demand all the facilities required to better their standard of living. He also accused the government of spending too much without caring about the welfare of the Dalits.

Convener J P Vasudeva said that no Dalit will suffer from poverty, malnutrition, homelessness, and unemployment if only the government regularizes fund allocation and deployment. He urged Dalits to become aware of various government facilities and to update themselves regarding the same. Criticizing Dalits for their ignorance of their rights as citizens of India, he urged them to communicate with one another and to take the right steps toward the utilization of reserve funds.

Vasantha Achary, the DK district secretary of CPI (M), said that Indian Dalits are harassed so much that over 70 percent of them are homeless, hungry, and deprived of basic facilities such as electricity. He also informed that every one of three Dalits is illiterate. He expressed his unhappiness that Dalits continue to be the victims of untouchability, bonded labour, and other indignities in spite of the passage of 62 years after independence.

Krishnappa, the DK district member CPI (M), addressed the gathering and said that although there are 26 crore Dalits in India, they are denied social, economic, and political rights. They continue to be harassed and live in darkness. He also spoke about the suffering of Dalits in rural areas.
