Mangaluru, June 16, 2020: Dakshina Kannada reported the highest single-day spike with seventy nine people from the district tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, June 16. While Udupi reported seven new cases on Tuesday.
The 79 cases reported in Dakshina Kannada includes 75 Saudi returnees and three Maharashtra returnees. All of them have been admitted to the designated district hospital in Mangaluru.
With this the total positive cases in the district rose to 378, including 10 persons from other districts. As many as 153 persons have been discharged and eight deaths have occurred so far.
Udupi district has reported 7 new positive cases on Tuesday. All the seven are Maharashtra returnees. Now, the district has a total of 1035 cases with 147 still being treated at the designated hospitals. The district has reported one COVID-19 fatality.
