Daan Utsav launched at Pharmaceutical College of Nitte University

Mangaluru, Oct 9, 2019: "Masoom Abhilasha" (Innocent desires) a program organized by NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, a constituent college of Nitte University to let the unprivileged children know that the world cares. The faculty and the students of the institute visited De Mercede Orphanage, Paneer, Mangaluru and asked the kids to give their wish list. The students and faculty arranged for the articles of their desire – shoes, dress, books, watches and sweets.

The program was a part of Daan Utsav, a week long program during the first week of October to reach out to the needy and underprivileged. Nitte (Deemed to be University) and its constituent colleges take a lead in promoting the joy of giving among the students and staff.  The university strongly believes that it is very important to inculcate the habit of compassion and sharing among the young students for building a healthy India.

Dr. M.S. Ravi, Professor & Head, Dept. of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics, A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangaluru inaugurated the program on 3rd October, 2019. Prof. C.S. Shastry, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences distributed the gifts to the children. Dr. R Narayana Charyulu, Vice Principal, Dr. Uday Venkat Mateti, Dr. Juno Joel, Mr. Rajaram Shetty and other faculty members and students were present.
