Mangalore, July 21, 2014: The DYFI took out a protest march from the Padil railway crossing to the Mangalore Railway Junction on July 21, Monday opposing the slow pace of works of the railway under bridge at Padil. The protestors also demanded good amenities for passengers at the station.
A protest was staged at the Mangalore Railway Junction wherein the protestors shouted slogans against the railways for the snail’s pace of works.
Muneer Katipalla, State President of DYFI said the railway gate at Padil was inconveniencing motorists to a great extent and people including office and school goers reach their destinations late. The early completion of the under bridge would prove a boon to them, he added.
Even the development of Mangalore Railway Junction has been ignored, he alleged.
Santosh Kumar Bajal, Jayanthi Shetty, BK Imtiyaz and several other DYFI activists were part of the protest.
