Mangalore, August 14: Speaking at a Meet the Press programme held at Press Club today, CM D. V. Sadananda Gowda spoke of the important role played by the media in controlling anti social elements and upholding democratic values.

Further speaking on the importance of the media, he said that the media bears the responsibility of acting as the whistle blower whenever things go wrong. He also remarked that he refrains from addressing the media unnecessarily because unnecessary statements in media reports tend to get wrongly interpreted.
