Mangaluru, July 10, 2017: Reports state that in Dakshina Kannada district following recent communal violence including brutal murder of RSS worker Sharath in BC Road last week. Karnataka police department has reinforced security in a serious manner. At least 3000 police personnel have been deployed in the district including Mangaluru Commissionerate.
Karnataka Reserve Police personnel along with police, officers from other districts of Karnataka including Udupi, Shivamogga, Ramanagar, Chikkaballapur, Bengaluru and others have been deployed in every nook and corner of the DK district. Police check posts have been established in Bantwal and neighbouring areas of in the district.
Western Range Inspector General of Police P Harishekaran said that his department has kept a close eye on the vehicle movement in the district and people with criminal back ground. Further he added that, police would take strict action against the culprits who have been involved in violence for the last 2 months.
