DK Witnesses Rainfall

Mangalore received excellent rainfall on Thursday. In some areas, the rains took the form of a pleasant drizzle; while some other regions witnessed a downpour.

According to the meteorological department, heavy rains with thunder and lightening will continue for 2 more days in coastal Karnataka. Fishermen have been warned of danger and advised to take care while fishing. The Arabian Sea is expected to rise with large and powerful waves hitting the coast on October 1, Thursday.

In Uttara Kannada, Bhatkal and Honnavar received 13 cms of rain. North Karnataka also witnessed heavy rainfall. Almatti and Bijapur witnessed rainfall as high as 11 cams. Karwar received 12 cms of rain.

So far, the rains and associated dangers such as floods, electric short circuits, collapse of walls, and lightening have claimed the lives of 28 people, including 12 children, in North Karnataka.
