DK Mahila Congress stages silent protest against EVMs, launches post card agitation

Mangaluru, June 26, 2019: The DK District Mahila Congress staged a silent protest and organised a post card agitation opposing EVMs on June 26, Wednesday.
Addressing the protestors Shalet Pinto, President of the District Mahila Congress said ballot papers must replace EVMs if democracy has to be saved in India. She said over one lakh post cards would be sent to the President of India from across Karnataka in support of the cause.
Post cards were posted to the President of India on behalf of the District Mahila Congress on this occasion.
District Mahila Congress Vice President Bharathi B M, City Block Congress Women’s wing chief Shantala Gatti, former corporators Jecintha Vijay Alfred, Appi, Sabitha Misquith and others were present.
