Comprising A Kumaraswamy, superintendent of police, CID, the team interacted with Pavana, wife of Ganapathy in connection with the recent suicide of her husband at a lodge in Madikeri. The CID team was yet to visit the local residence of Ganapathy in connection with their ongoing investigation.

Incidentally, Ganapathy was attached to the office of Inspector-General of Police (Western Range) here. He was one of the two DSPs at the office of IGP and was in-charge of departmental enquiries. The CID sleuths in the immediate aftermath of the suicide headed by C H Pratap Reddy, ADGP, had visited Ganapathy’s office here and perused through documents and computer there to collect evidence. The suicide had created a major stir and had rocked the last legislature session.
