DCP Hanumantharaya motivates Students to join armed forces

Mangaluru, August 8, 2018: DCP (Law and Order) Hanumantharaya called upon the students to use their capabilities for the betterment of the society.

He was speaking at ‘Ecovanza’ festival organised Department of Economics at St Aloysius College.

Lamenting that national ideologies have taken a backseat nowadays, the DCP urged the students to join armed forces so that the strength of young India is channelised towards the good of the country. Armed Forces also offer a great career opportunity to the students, he said. The DCP told students to cultivate reading habit to develop genuine ideas which bring a positive change in the society.

Expressing concern over the increasing involvement of students in drug abuse cases, he said that the students must concentrate on their studies and co-curricular activities and not to fall prey into the vicious circle of drug addiction.

He noted that hundreds of youths die every year due to negligent driving. The students must follow traffic rules, he added.

Presiding over the programme, Principal Fr Pravin Martis said that nowadays needs are less and wants are more. It is important for the student community to clearly understand the difference between the needs and the wants, he said.

Postgraduation Economics Department Head Dr Norbert Lobo and Programme Convener Sohan Alva were present.
