Mangaluru, July 20, 2016:In a review meeting in his office Deputy Commissioner A.B.Ibrahim has issued strict instructions to all temple administrations regarding security measures to be taken up in the respective temples.
ADC Kumar said that, as per the previous orders every temple should submit photo catalogue of the jewellery in the temple. Uniform salary should be fixed and temple audit should be done and completed within 31st August.
There are 40 temples in A Category, 25 in B Category and 435 in C Category, he said adding that out of 40 temples in A Category 14 temples are yet to submit photo catalogue.
SP Gulabrao Borase came up with innovative ideas and suggested the temple administration to install burglar alarms rather than CCTV cameras which will prevent thefts in the temple. He also said that it is better to secure temple jewellery in bank lockers. Strong rooms should be constructed in temples in order to take precautionary measures, he said.
DC AB Ibrahim said that temple managements should recruit local security guards instead of guards from other parts of the state and also compulsorily verify their background before recruiting for security post.
