DC, Health Minister visit residence of Kabeer, assure justice

Mangalore, April 21, 2014: Several leaders including Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim, State Health and Family Welfare Minister and Mangalore North MLA BA Moidin Bava visited the residence of Kabeer who was reportedly gunned down by the Anti-Naxal Force near the Shringeri check post on April 19, Saturday after mistaking him for a Naxalite.
Deputy Commissioner during his visit said a judicial probe would be undertaken after consulting the Deputy Commissioner of Chikmagalur and Additional Chief Secretary of the State government.
Health Minister Khader said the government has promised a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the bereaved family.
The Mangalore North MLA also assured justice to the family.
