Mangaluru, Feb 26, 2016 : The rituals pertaining to the coronation of the new Raja or chief of the Kadali Yogeshwar Mutt in the city began on February 26, Friday. The ceremonies commenced with a Pura Pravesha ceremony wherein the new head, Sri Nirmalnathji was accorded a warm welcome by JR Lobo, MLA and Capt . Ganesh Karnik, MLC among others at Kottara Chowki.
The coronation rituals will continue for 12 days and will be held under the leadership of Vittaldas Tantri, a senior Vedic scholar.
Yogeshwar Mutt seers offered prayer at Kudroli Temple and Sri Venkatarama Temple at Car Street. The procession proceeded to the Kadali Mutt via PVS-Bunts hostel-Mallikatte-Kadri Manjunatha Temple.
As part of the ceremony, a variety of religious and cultural programmes will be held at the Mutt from today till March 7. A horekanike procession will be taken out on February 28 to the Mutt from Mangaladevi Temple.
The ceremonies on different days will be graced by a host of religious heads and dignitaries including Sri Mohandas Swamiji of Maanila, Sri Gurudevananda Swamiji of Odiyoor, Sri Muktananda Swami of Kerinje, Sri Mahanth Adityanath, Sri Mahanth Shivanathji, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, Monappa Bhandari, former MLC, P Jayaram Bhat, CEO and MD of Karnataka Bank, AJ Shetty of AJ Group and Ajith Kumar Rai Malady, Chief of Buntara Sangha.
