Mangaluru, Dec 24, 2019: The city police have released CCTV footages of the protest against Citizenship Amendment Act that turned violent on  December 19 resulting in police firing.

Some videos and photos  released by the cops have given room for suspicion if it was a pre-planned  violence.

The protest which was underway peacefully had turned violent later on. A CCTV footage even revealed how a goods tempo was parked on the roadside with stone filled sacks.

The protestors are also seen picking stones from the tempo and hurling. It is also said the miscreants had even changed the direction of the CCTV cameras so that they are not caught.

The police who released  the videos  shared with them by the public have  requested the public to pass on information if any regarding the rioters and have assured that their identities will be kept a secret.

Some protestors who were seen with faces covered, had even  broken a CCTV camera.

It has also been gathered that during the incident some  miscreants had even tried to barge into a shop dealing with guns, bullets and  sulphur at Golikatta Bazar. However the attempt was thwarted  in the last minute. The  accused had broken the  wooden door and attempted to break open the shutter but could not succeed  as the police had arrived by then.
