Congress to organize programmes to strengthen district blocks

Mangalore, June 13: MLA B. Ramanath Rai told reporters at a press conference held at the office of the district Congress on June 14 Monday that the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) and the District Congress will jointly organize an event titled “Congress Nadige Janara Kadege” to strengthen the party and its district blocks.

 

He further said that a public workshop will be held in which a team comprising a leader and two observers from each district block will participate.

Congress Nadige Janara Kadege is scheduled to commence on June 15 and will conclude in Aug 16. The leaders will be instructed on the type of programmes they should organize at the general meeting.

Flaying the BJP-led state government, he said that the state government is taking credit for a number of development schemes for which the centre has allotted funds. Although the 108 ambulance has made CM Yeddyurappa popular, people are unaware that the fund for this ambulance was provided by the central government. A number of schemes such as funds for the handicapped, widow pension, cycle distribution, and Bhagyalakshmi schemes have been stagnant for a long time. He also accused the CM of trying to gain publicity through various advertisements.

Congress leaders such as Ivan D’Souza and Shashidhar Hegde were also present.
