Congress spokesperson Farooq criticizes M. G. Hegde, rubbishes allegations

Mangalore, June 10, 2012: Addressing reporters at a press meet held in the office of the district Congress on June 9, Saturday, Farooq Ullal, spokesperson for the Congress party, flayed M. G. Hegde, state JD (S) general secretary, and rubbished several allegations leveled against the Congress by Mr. Hegde. 

Stating that M. G. Hegde’s public statements were untrue, he said that making statements against the Congress does not suit Hegde’s image and added that the JD (S) is jealous of the Congress’ popularity and its better chances of success. 

Stating that Ramanath Rai was right when he said that the JD(S) knows only how to show off, he said that the JD (S) statement that the Congress is a like a coffee plant that cannot grow everywhere is just not true. 

He further said that the Congress candidate is not a dummy as stated by Mr. Hegde. Stating that Mr. Hegde himself is a dummy, he said that Mr. Hegde is not getting the prominence he ought to have got in the JD (S) simply because he is a dummy. He also wanted to know why the JD(S) was campaigning so hard for Bhoje Gowda and not for Panchaksharaiah.

Responding to the JD(S) statement that the Congress party has no potential, he said that the results of the ZP election show clearly that the JD(S) is a barren party. 

He also advised M. G. Hegde to use his leadership talents for his own progress and for social progress, not to tarnish another’s image. Regarding M. G. Hegde’s recent move from the Congress to the JD (S), he said that Hegde is sure to leave the JD(S) in a few days too.
