Congress candidates are capable and talented – KPCC Secretary Ashwin Rai

Mangalore, June 9, 2012 : M. Ashwin Kumar Rai, secretary of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), said that Congress candidates Hosur Ramesh Joyappa and S. P. Dinesh, who are contesting the upcoming legislative council polls from the South-west Teachers’ Constituency and South-west Graduates’ Constituency, respectively, are in all ways capable of handling voters’ problems.

 

 

Addressing reporters at a press conference held in Press Club on June 9, Saturday, he said that both candidates are talented and have already won over the hearts of the public by working for their welfare.

Voicing his opinions about BJP candidates Captain Ganesh Karnik and D. H. Shankaramurthy, who have been representatives for the teachers’ and graduates’ constituencies, respectively, he said that both have absolutely no achievements to their credit and have done nothing to solve the problems of teaches in the state. While campaigning for the previous elections, the two had assured unemployed graduates that allowances will be provided to them, but they have still not kept their promise, he said.

Criticizing the BJP-led state government, he said that the party is yet to satisfy the demands of teachers, forcing them to stage protests several times. He, therefore, urged voters to cast their votes in favor of the Congress so that positive changes can be brought about in the education sector.

K. H. Abubakker, A. Nonayya Poojary, Mohammed Volavoor, and Steven D’Souza were also present at the press conference.
