Mangaluru, Jan 01, 2018: Mangaluru Congress leader Amrit Kadri has been booked on charges of assaulting Puttarama, a constable of the City (East) Traffic Police Station while the latter was on duty at Bejai Battagudde on December 30, Saturday.
Puttarama along with SI of the station R K Gawar and other personnel was checking vehicles at the spot when Amrit who was proceeding towards Circuit House in his car. When the cops signalled him to stop the car, Amrit reportedly questioned the constable Puttarama and also threatened to complain against him with higher-ups by holding his collar. It is said the Congress leader also refused to accept the notice served by the cops for drunken driving.
Amrit has been booked under Section 341, 323, 504 and 353 of the IPC.
