Ratnakar, works as the attender at First Grade college, in Balmatta, has been creating tens vibe in the college campus with his drinking habit.

On Friday July 17, the students of the college, who could not bear his torment, confronted the attender by taking matters into their own hands.

According to the sources, Ratnakar was always in a state of drunk and never devoted his time for his normal duties. He even took money from the students of the college when he had no money to drink.

It is learnt that Ratnakar had took Rs. 1000 each from 25 students with the false promise of providing them KSRTC Bus passes. He even threatened the students when they asked him about the money.

But when the students took the matter very seriously, he said he was going through ’tough times’ and spent all their money.

The principal of the college had written a complaint to the education department about Ratnakar’s behaviour and about cheating students. Even the college administration was against him.

On Friday, the students of the college held a protest in the college campus.

The joint director of regional college education Shivamurthi visited to the college and held a discussion with the students. He also got a signed assurance from Ratnakar that he would return their money by evening. The students demanded him to dismiss immediately as he would come to college in drunken state.

The Joint director agreed to the demands of the students and recommended Ratnakar’s dismissal to the DDPU. The protest was then called off by the students.
