Cobrapost expose : Muslim Central Committee demands clarification, thorough probe

Mangaluru, Oct 8, 2015 :  The Muslim Central Committee has demanded either a CoD or CBI investigation into the recent Cobrapost sting operation  claiming a BJP, right wing nexus against ’Love Jihad.’

 

 

Speaking to reporters here on October 8, Thursday, KS Mohammad Masood, President of Muslim Central Commitee also sought a clarification from local leaders who had appeared in the sting operation video, regarding the statements made by them.

Pointing out that none of the three leaders who had featured in the sting operation video have so far come out in the open to give a clarification. Masood said there was no intention of blaming the three leaders MLC Ganesh Karnik, VHP Leader Jagadish Shenava and Srikhar Prabhu."But they need to clarify regarding their statements," Masood demanded.

Masood also made a request to the State Home Ministry to look into the allegations of Capt. Karnik that "’60 per cent of police force is made up of RSS men." Questioning the silence of the Home Ministry, he pointed out how several Muslim organisations have been contacting the Committee regarding the development. Masood said he was holding the press meet as he was answerable to his community.

"We need a thorough investigation as well as a clarification within a month  lest the Committee would convene meetings to decide its future course of action," Masood warned.
D M Aslam, Joint Secretary of the Committee who also spoke  questioned the silence of the other legislators and ministers regarding the expose by Cobrapost sting operation. The issue has to be given a serious thought, he said.

Mustafa, Secretary of the Committee, Ashraf, former mayor and others were present.

The Committee representavies have also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister and City Police Commissioner  enlisting its demands.
