Mangaluru, Dec 11, 2017: Inspector General K R Nautiyal, Commander, Coast Guard Region (west) on Dec 10, Sunday reviewed the Indian Coast Guard operations, infrastructure development and administration in Karnataka.
The priorities of Nautiyal include strengthening coastal security through coordination with various central and state agencies and to make the seas safe on the West Coast of India.
During the visit, Nautiyal interacted with Coast Guard officers and men and visited various ICG assets and places. The flag officer took stock of the situation and showed the path for improvement.
The Flag Officer expressed satisfaction over the recent rescue services rendered by Coast Guard Karnataka during Cyclone Ockhi. He also appreciated the progress made in land acquisition, infrastructure development and liaison of Coast Guard Karnataka with state administration, police, customs, fisheries and other stake holders.
DIG S S Dasila, commander, Coast Guard Karnataka and other senior officers of Coast Guard district headquarters 3 were present.
