Civic polls: Election Code of Conduct comes into force

 Mangalore, Feb 16, 2013 :  The Election Code of Conduct has come into force in Mangalore and seven other towns which will go to the polls on March 7.

Deputy Commissioner N Prakash who informed this to reporters on February 15, Friday said the Code of Conduct will be in force till March 11. He said the last date for filing of nominations was February 23. The nominations will be scrutinized on February 25 while the last date for withdrawal of nominations is February 27.


The counting will be held on March 11 from 8 am onwards. If there would be 379 polling booths in Mangalore, the number of the booths in Moodbidri would be 23,   35 booths in Ullal, and 31 booths in Bantwal. Belthangady will have 11 polling booths and Sullia 18 booths, the DC informed.
